Pinie Wang was born in Beijing. At the age of 12 she packed her suitcase full of Chinese music cassettes and left for Austria. As a kid, Pinie started to learn traditional Chinese painting. At the age of 16 she went to Art School in Graz to study Graphic Design. Now Pinie is a graphic design freelancer and has worked for many interesting art or ad projects. In Pinie started working as a DJn three years ago, and ever since, she just can't imagine a life without this profession. Her style can best be described as Urban Electro Disco. She loves to play very unusual and rare electronic remixes of mainstream hits and mixes them with the latest electronic music. In autumn 2008 she started to organize Myyy Bitch club together with Matt Modny. In 2007 MUMOK Vienna invited Pinie Wang to create a compilation of contemporary Chinese electronic music, which has been released online on www.mumok.at. Nov. 2007 – Nov. 2008 Pinie worked as curator and fashion designer at CHINA GO, a young Chinese fashion exhibition at Gegenalltag in MuseumsQuartier.

Pinie had her first own exhibition Lost Urban Hero in play.fm lounge, from October 18 – November 13, 2008.
Ausstellung: Lost Urban Hero
Ausgerüstet mit Farbkasten, Fantasie und Mut ist Lost Urban Hero ein Symbol für die Sehnsucht nach einer Ordnung der Dinge, die in der modernen Großstadt den Geist verwirren und die Sinne trüben. Im Spannungsfeld Ost und West bewegt sie sich zwischen Moderne und Tradition, Individuum und Kollektiv, Gemeinschaft und Isolation. Sie befindet sich in einem unermüdlichen Kampf mit den Gegensätzen und tritt für ihre traditionellen Werte ein. Pinie Wang, chinesische Immigrantin in Wien zeigt in ihrer Ausstellung mittels Grafik, Video, Fotografie in einem farbenfrohen Mash-Up die Geschichte des Lost Urban Hero, einem fiktiven Mädchen, das ihren Traum vom Ninja Kämpfer in Wien lebt.
